Substitusi Tepung Ikan dengan Tepung Cacing (Lumbricus Rubellus) dalam Pakan Buatan terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Efisiensi Pemanfaatan Pakan Kerapu Macan (Epinephelus Fuscoguttatus)
The other raw materials as animal protein sources needed to replace fish meal. Earthworms can be selected as the local raw material source of protein for fish diet because earthworm has a good prospect as a source of protein in the future. This study aimed to determine the effect of fish meal substitution with earthworm meal toward growth and efficiency of feed utilization tiger grouper, and also the best dose earthworm subtstitution can be done. This research was carried out on April to June 2012 in the BBPBAP Jepara. This experiment used tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) with the weight range about 4.04±0.023 g/tail. The diet test was an artificial diet with different doses of earthworm meal substitution. This experiment used an experimental laboratory method which is done with completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replicates i.e. Treatment A (0% substitution of fish meal with earthworm meal), B (25% substitution of fish meal with earthworm meal), treatment C (50% substitution of fish meal with earthworm meal), treatment D (75% substitution of fish meal with earthworm meal) and treatment E (100% substitution of fish meal with earthworm meal). The measured variables are absolute growth rate, spesific growth rate (SGR), voluntary feed intake (VFI), feed conversion ratio (FCR), protein efficiency ratio (PER), survival rate (SR) and water quality. The results revealed that substitution of fish meal with earthworms meal gave a highly significant effect (P<0.01) toward the absolute growth rate, SGR and VFI, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) toward the FCR, PER and SR of tiger grouper. Diet with 100% substitution of earthworms meal (treatment E) gave the best effect on the absolute growth rate (6,27±0,66g) and SGR (2,22±0,16%/day) of tiger grouper.
